Forgiven

From today's Our Daily Bread...

Not perfect; just forgiven by Jesus! That’s the good word for today. —David H. Roper

Lord, I know I’m not even close to being perfect. That’s why I need You and Your cleansing in my life. I’m lost without You.

Monitor your heart daily to avoid wandering from God’s wisdom.

We Walk by Faith, Not by Sight

National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 4th.  Now is the time to pray for our nation!  We have never needed more prayer for our country than in today's time.

Pray for our President, Congress, our state leaders, for God's protection and for the people of the United States to repent and turn back to God.

Hear us!  Forgive us!  Heal us!

O Lord, listen!  O Lord, forgive!  O Lord, hear and act!  For your sake, O my God...  Daniel 9:19

In the Shadow of Thy Wings

In the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge. Psalm 57:1

Sunday's Coming

I saw this quote written somewhere and they sourced it as part of an Easter sermon by E.V. Hill.  I liked it so I'm re-posting it here.

"It’s Friday. Jesus is arrested in the garden where He was praying. But Sunday’s coming.

It’s Friday, The disciples are hiding and Peter’s denying that he knows the Lord. But Sunday’s coming.

It’s Friday. Jesus is standing before the high priest of Israel, silent as a lamb before the slaughter. But Sunday’s coming.

It’s Friday. Jesus is beaten, mocked, and spit upon. But Sunday’s coming.

And on that horrible day 2000 years ago, Jesus the Christ, the Lord of glory, the only begotten Son of God, the only perfect man died on the cross of Calvary. Satan thought that he had won the victory… But that was Friday…

It’s Sunday, and the crucified and resurrected Christ has defeated death, hell, sin and the grave. It’s Sunday. And now everything has changed. It’s the age of grace. God’s grace poured out on all who would look to the crucified lamb of Calvary. Grace freely given to all who would believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross of Calvary, was buried, and rose again. All because it’s Sunday."

Open Your Bible

Lord, I don’t want to treat Your Word lightly or
to dismiss what seems too difficult. Show me
my heart and help me to obey from the heart
whatever You tell me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

When you open your Bible, ask the Author to open your heart.
