Female Cardinal First shot with my new lens, Canon 70-300mm IS USM I'm going to love this lens, especially since it has the Image Stabilization feature. I'll be using this lens a lot. Hope to get some better bird shots. This bird sat on the tree branch for about an hour. Taking a nap, I guess.

This is what's left of Oliver's rubber ducky. He chewed the head off, now he's got his own beak stuck in the middle of it.

Tiger Swallowtail Caterpillars These 2 were eating my flowers like crazy. I didn't want to kill them so I picked them off and threw them in the woods. BUT, before I did that, I just had to take a picture. The 2 big spots on the front look so much like eyes.

We love to have hummingbird feeders out in the summer. We watch these little creatures buzz around, dive bomb one another, fight over the food and eat. This is the best shot I got last year. Next summer I'm going to work with a tripod and my new long lens.

I just got an external hard drive! Seagate 160g's
I work on a Dell Inspirion 9100 and the hard drive is a little over 55g. Well... I have quickly filled this drive and was constantly having to burn cd's just to have room to work. (My camera takes rather large files, especially the raw files and adding the digital camcorder files has really pushed it to the limits. I'm sure many of you can relate!)
Anyway... the reason I started this post is that I'm asking for any tips you can give through your experiences using external drives. I know there's bound to be many.
Thanks!! I'll keep you posted in case anyone is looking at the same thing.

Hummingbird Moth Resting A few days earlier, I had just gotten my macro lens. It's not as clear as I would like. I'll blame it on having to squat down to get to this angle without disturbing him. I love these little creatures! Edit 1/9/06 - Shot was taken this past summer - I've got tons of pictures that I haven't even be able to process until now. I think that's what winters are for...

Gardenias, one of my favorite flowers. I actually have pretty good luck growing these. I'll cut a bloom and put it in a shot glass filled with water, set it on the kitchen table and enjoy it for several days.

I took Oliver to work with me the Friday before Christmas. He's normally shy in front of strangers but was excited when he started talking about 15 minutes after we got there. Update 1/2/06, Oliver now says "Oliver went to work with Mama". Now, if he could just help me with my job!
