We love to have hummingbird feeders out in the summer. We watch these little creatures buzz around, dive bomb one another, fight over the food and eat. This is the best shot I got last year. Next summer I'm going to work with a tripod and my new long lens.

I'm so jealous you got a picture of one of them! I see them from time to time while biking or walking around, but these guys are just way too fast!

Love the hummingbirds. Glad to see you don't add the red food coloring to the nectar.

I have a tiny (what else would it be) hummingbird feather. I like to sit under where my feeded hangs and watch them hover looking down at me and of course you know how territorial they are. During one such contest, one hummer slammed into the other in mid-air and knocked a feather righ off of him and down it floated, into my lap.

I've never gotten great pics of them with my limited point and shoot.

I do believe that the one regular we had at our feeder got to know us. I would be on the other side of the house from the feeder, working in the yard and she would buzz me and chatter at me. I miss them.

Good pic. Never seen one. Was it difficult to photograph?
